 Gonzalo's
career began in a little under ten years ago in his home town of Seville.
He quickly established himself as one of the city's leading DJs and held
two residencies at the cities most successful clubs. During this time
he travelled the South coast of Spain, transporting his unique blend of
chunky beats.
It wasn't until 1997 that Gonzalo decided to bring his uplifting sound
to London, and he did it at the right time. It was whilst playing at a
smaller underground venue that Laurence Malice heard his talent and offered
him the opportunity to play at the Trade Test Lounge. No sooner had he
completed his set - he was offered a weekly residency. In this short time
span Gonzalo has earned himself a reputation of being extremely versatile
with his sound, through purveying uplifting funky house sets right up
to his world renowned harder house sound - his selection of records mean
he can play at the beginning, or at the end of Trade to an outstanding
standard.
Gonzalo was chosen (as the "Future") to mix a special compilation
released to celebrate Trade's 10th birthday "Past, Present, and Future".
He has also written and produced his own material, which has been released
through the Trade record label. His first release entitled 'Attitude'
which came out on the Full Strength imprint sold out in just two weeks.
Due to this demand it was re-released in 2001 with excellent remixes that
ensured it immediately sold out once again. His third track 'Let's Go'
also rose to the top of the dance charts and has been licensed for numerous
global compilations. Since then he produced the first ever solo E.P for
the label in conjunction with a highly established producer Paul King
(Pants & Corset and Trauma fame) - the Trade Trax E.P, which was another
huge success and drew the attention of clubs right throughout the UK and
Europe.
2001 has seen the demand for Gonzalo's talent take him to nearly every
continent across the globe. This year Gonzalo has become Trade's premier
tour DJ and has secured new residencies in Paris (at internationally renowned
Queen) and Los Angeles. The summer saw him rock the island of Ibiza at
Trade and Manumission and his work has taken him to gigs in Japan, Brazil,
Ireland, Moscow and Amsterdam. The immense talent that he possesses combined
with his incredible musical knowledge prove his strength at being both
a world-renowned DJ and Producer.
On the home front, Gonzalo has developed a strong following throughout
the UK and secured residencies at Gatecrasher's hardhouse night "Bed"
amongst others and his impressive upfront sounds and his powerful sculptured
looks has seen him attract a huge fan base wherever he performs.. Residencies
in London include Salvation at the Café De Paris and the legendary
Trade, where he recently performed a marathon 10 hour set, nicknamed 'Gonzalothon'
by the press. The only other DJ to achieve this rare and impressive accolade
at Trade and was the late Tony DeVit. The future holds much for Gonzalo,
with his ever increasing production and remix work in the pipeline and
his increasing global recognition this Spanish "mix-maestro"
is ready to set the world alight and rocket into orbit.
